How to Find the Joomla Web Cron URL

Open Joomla Scheduled Tasks

Sign in to Joomla Administrator and go to System → Manage → Scheduled Tasks. The Web Cron URL is part of the Scheduled Tasks global options, not an individual task's editing screen.

Open the Options screen

Select Options from the Scheduled Tasks toolbar and locate the Web Cron section. Joomla's official help describes Web Cron as disabled by default. If it is disabled, you will not yet have a usable configured Web Cron trigger.

Enable Web Cron and provide the required key

Set Web Cron to Enabled and provide the required hash or key. Joomla's help notes that before the first save a message indicates a key is required. Use a strong value and treat it as sensitive because it protects the scheduler trigger.

Save before looking for the link

Save the Scheduled Tasks options. Joomla documents that after the settings are saved, a field appears containing a Webcron link URL to copy. If you enable the option but do not save it, do not assume a displayed or hand-constructed URL is the final configured trigger.

Copy the generated URL exactly

Use the URL Joomla provides rather than manually assembling one from examples. The generated link contains installation-specific information, including the configured trigger key. Copy it into the trusted external web-cron service that will make the request.

Do not publish the URL

The Web Cron URL is operationally sensitive. Redact it in screenshots and support tickets, keep it out of public repositories, and restrict access to logs or monitoring systems that record it. If the URL has been disclosed, change the key and save the configuration again before updating the scheduler.

Confirm that the copied URL works

Have the trusted scheduler request the generated link, then check a safe due task's Last Run information or Execution History where available. If nothing runs, first confirm that an enabled task is actually due; a working trigger does not force tasks whose execution rules say they are not ready.
