How to Publish a Module to a Joomla Template Position
Choose a position that the active template renders
Identify the template used by the target page and select one of its available module positions. You can inspect the template's declared positions or temporarily use Joomla's module-position preview. Do not assume a position from another installed template will appear on the active one.
Open or create the site module
Go to Content → Site Modules. Select an existing module or choose New and select the required module type. Configure the module's content or extension-specific options before focusing on placement.
Set the Position field
In the module edit form, choose the desired template position. Joomla's current User Manual describes Position as the location where the module will appear in the template. Multiple modules can share a position and can be ordered relative to one another.
Set the module to Published
Make sure Status is Published and review Start Publishing and Finish Publishing if the module uses scheduled publication. A correct position cannot display an unpublished module or one outside its publishing window.
Configure Menu Assignment
Open the Menu Assignment tab and choose where the module should appear. Joomla supports all pages, no pages, only selected pages, and all pages except selected pages. Position and menu assignment work together: the module must be eligible for the current routed menu item.
Check access and language
Confirm the module's Access level permits the current visitor to see it and that its Language setting matches the page/site context. These controls can make a correctly positioned, published module appear missing for only certain users or language routes.
Save and verify the frontend
Save the module and load the exact target page. If it does not appear, recheck the active template style, position, publication state, menu assignment, access, language, and module ordering before modifying template files.
