How to Show a Joomla Module Only on Specific Pages
Open the module you want to control
In Joomla Administrator, open System → Manage Panel → Site Modules, then select the module title. Joomla modules have a Menu Assignment tab that controls which menu-item pages can display the module. This page assignment is separate from the module position, publication state, access level, language, and publishing dates.
Choose Only on the pages selected
Open Menu Assignment and set Module Assignment to Only on the pages selected. Joomla then displays the menu-item selection tree. This is the core option for showing a module on a limited set of pages instead of everywhere the template position is rendered.
Select the exact menu items
Check each menu item on which the module should appear. Think in terms of Joomla menu-item context rather than article IDs alone: a content item can sometimes be reached through more than one route, and module assignment follows the active menu item used for the request.
Verify the module can otherwise display
Confirm Status is Published, the Position exists in the active template, Access allows the test user to view it, Language matches the page, and Start/Finish Publishing dates are not suppressing it. A correct menu assignment cannot make a module appear if another module setting prevents rendering.
Save and test as a frontend visitor
Save the module and visit every selected page plus at least one unselected page. Test while logged out if the module is intended for public visitors. If caching is enabled, clear the relevant Joomla or external cache before concluding that the assignment did not change.
Check the active menu route when results seem inconsistent
If the module appears on one URL for content but not another, identify which menu item is active for each route. Joomla menu assignments are tied to menu items. Hidden menu items can still provide routing context even when they are not displayed by a visible Menu module.
Keep page targeting maintainable
Use descriptive module titles and Notes so future administrators understand why the module is limited to those pages. When menus are reorganized, review assigned modules because moving, replacing, unpublishing, or deleting menu items can change where those modules are expected to appear.
