How to Refresh the Joomla Extension Update List
Open Extensions Update
Go to System → Update → Extensions.
Use Find Updates
Select Find Updates. Current Joomla help defines this as querying update servers for the latest versions of installed extensions.
Let the query finish
Joomla may contact multiple remote sources, so slow or unavailable vendor servers can delay the refresh.
Review the refreshed list
Compare Installed and Available versions and review the changelog before installing anything.
Check Update Sites
If an expected update is still missing, open System → Update → Update Sites and confirm its source is enabled.
Remember metadata filtering
Update metadata can restrict releases by Joomla, PHP, or database version, so a vendor release may legitimately not be offered to the current site.
Check the vendor
Confirm the current release and supported update method. Some products do not use Joomla updates, and commercial products may require credentials or a download key.
Refresh is not installation
Find Updates refreshes discovery information; it does not install the updates.
