How to Update Multiple Joomla Extensions at Once
Back up first
Take a restorable files-and-database backup before bulk updates.
Open the update list
Go to System → Update → Extensions and use Find Updates if a fresh query is needed.
Review before selecting
Check each extension's versions, changelog, Joomla/PHP requirements, dependencies, and vendor instructions.
Respect dependencies
Packages and companion components, plugins, modules, or libraries may require a vendor-specified order.
Select compatible updates
Use the checkboxes to select the intended extensions. Joomla's current Extensions: Update screen supports updating one or multiple selected items.
Run Update
Select Update and allow Joomla to finish fetching and installing the selected updates.
Verify each important extension
Confirm installed versions and test affected Administrator/frontend workflows and logs.
Recover failures deliberately
If an update fails, capture the exact error and identify the failed extension. Follow vendor recovery guidance or restore the backup if state is uncertain.
