Refresh QCBM Entitlement and Understand Your Current Access

QC Backup Manager separates the entitlement your account normally provides from the feature level the current installation can use right now. The Current Entitlement card on Status is the place to verify that state.

Use Refresh Entitlement after changing an Authorized Domain, subscription, All Access status, or Max Preview state, or whenever QCBM tells you that entitlement should be checked again.

Refresh Entitlement Now

  1. Open Components > QC Backup Manager > Status.
  2. In Current Entitlement, click Refresh Entitlement.
  3. Wait for QCBM to complete the validation request.
  4. Read the resulting Status message together with the Base tier, Effective tier, Verification, and validation timestamps.

Read the Current Entitlement Card

The card can show Status, Base tier, Effective tier, Verification, Domain, Access until, Last checked, and Next automatic check. While a Max Preview is active, it also shows when the preview ends. If the installation is temporarily using communication grace, the grace end time is shown as well.

Base Tier vs. Effective Tier

Base tier is the normal tier QCBM has recorded for the installation. Effective tier is the feature level QCBM currently allows. They can differ temporarily, most notably during a Max Preview.

Current paid access is normally established through QuantaCade Authorized Domains. All Access can also provide QCBM access. Older upgraded installations may still contain legacy-key state, but current releases do not require license-key entry for normal paid entitlement.

Understand Access Until and Validation Times

Access until shows the known paid or preview access boundary when one exists; otherwise QCBM can report no fixed expiry. Last checked tells you when entitlement was most recently validated, while Next automatic check shows when QCBM expects its automatic revalidation to run again.

If QCBM has recently confirmed paid access but the entitlement service temporarily cannot be reached, a limited communication-grace period can keep previously confirmed access active. Grace is not an extension of a known subscription or preview expiration.

When the Result Is Not What You Expect

  1. Confirm the Domain shown by QCBM is the site you intended to authorize.
  2. Use Manage Authorized Domains and verify the domain is assigned to QC Backup Manager in your QuantaCade account.
  3. Return to Status and run Refresh Entitlement again.
  4. Review the Entitlement Revalidation task-health message if QCBM reports an automatic-validation problem.
  5. Do not reinstall QCBM merely because the tier is wrong; installation and entitlement are separate conditions.

Verify the Result

The expected result is not simply an enabled button. Confirm the Status message is healthy, the Effective tier matches the access you expect, and the validation timestamps are current. If a paid tier cannot be confirmed, QCBM preserves your saved backup data and configuration while restricting paid-only actions.
