Use QCBM Email Template Tokens and HTML Preview

QCBM email tokens let one template insert the current site, backup, destination, storage, failure, or restore information at send time. Use the token controls in the editor instead of typing undocumented placeholders.

The HTML Preview uses realistic sample values so you can check layout before sending a test message.

Supported Preview Tokens

Current QCBM preview/test tokens include:

  • {name}, {username}, {email}
  • {site_name}, {site_url}
  • {backup_title}, {backup_status}, {recovery_pin}
  • {destination}, {message}
  • {failure_phase}, {storage_path}, {available_space}, {storage_mode}
  • {restore_action}, {restore_status}

Insert Tokens at the Cursor

In the template editor, click a token button while the subject, plain-text body, or HTML editor is active. QCBM inserts the exact placeholder syntax at the cursor.

Not Every Event Supplies Every Token

Design each template around the data that its event actually provides. For example, Backup Failed has failure/storage details, Off-Site Export Failed provides destination/message details, and Restore Notice provides restore action/status.

Unresolved Token Safety

QCBM checks the rendered test subject/body for token-shaped placeholders that remain unresolved. If unresolved tokens remain, Send Test is blocked and identifies the placeholders instead of sending a visibly broken test message.

Use HTML Preview

  1. Open an email template.
  2. Insert or edit tokens.
  3. On an eligible custom-HTML plan, select Preview HTML.
  4. Review the rendered output using QCBM's sample values.
  5. Close the preview and correct layout/token issues.

Preview Values Are Samples

The preview intentionally uses sample values such as a fictional administrator, example site name, sample Backup Set, Recovery PIN, destination, storage path, and restore result. They prove rendering—not live production data.

Always Follow Preview with Send Test

A good preview does not prove Joomla mail delivery. Save the template and use Send Test so QCBM resolves the same sample tokens through the live renderer and sends the result to the current administrator.
