Run a Safe First End-to-End QCDS Test

Before sending a real document, run one controlled signing request from start to finish. Use a small PDF, a test Contact, and an email address you control so you can verify the sender workflow, invitation delivery, signer experience, completed PDF, and Audit Trail without involving a customer.

This test is the fastest way to prove that your QCDS installation, Joomla mail, frontend workspace, PDF workflow, and completion path are working together.

1. Prepare a Simple Test PDF

Create a one-page PDF containing obvious blank areas for a signature and signer name. Avoid using a production contract for the first test; the goal is to prove the workflow with a document that is easy to inspect.

2. Create a Test Contact

  1. Open the QCDS frontend workspace and choose Contacts.
  2. Add a Contact using an email address you can open yourself.
  3. Save the Contact and confirm it appears in the Contacts list.

3. Create and Publish a Template

  1. Open Templates and create a Template from the test PDF.
  2. Place at least a Signature field and a signer-name field in obvious locations.
  3. Assign the fields to the signer role you intend to use.
  4. Choose Validate and correct any field or assignment problem reported by QCDS.
  5. Choose Publish Template.

Do not continue until the Template has a usable published version. Publishing freezes the reusable version that a new Request can reference.

4. Create the Test Request

  1. From the published Template, choose Use Template.
  2. On Request Details, give the Request a recognizable test title.
  3. Assign the test Contact to the signer and review the invitation details.
  4. Continue to Prepare & Send.
  5. Choose Check. Resolve any unassigned field, missing participant, or invalid required value.
  6. Choose Send Now.

A brand-new Request is subject to the current plan's request authorization at Send Now. If authorization or mail delivery fails, preserve the visible error and correct that problem instead of repeatedly creating new test Requests.

5. Complete the External Signer Flow

Open the invitation from the test mailbox as if you were an outside signer. Follow the secure signer link, complete the required fields, apply the signature, and submit the signing action.

For the first smoke test, keep the workflow simple. Test Identity Verification, attachments, advanced routing, and other optional features only after the basic end-to-end path succeeds.

6. Verify Completion

  1. Return to the QCDS workspace and open Requests.
  2. Confirm the Request reaches Completed after all required signing work finishes.
  3. Open Request Details and review the participant and Timeline information.
  4. Download the Completed PDF or completed package shown for the Request.
  5. Open the artifact and verify the signed field values, signature placement, document content, and included Audit Trail.

What a Passing Test Proves

  • The sender can reach and use the QCDS frontend workspace.
  • A PDF can become a validated, published Template.
  • A new Request can pass QCDS validation and plan authorization.
  • Joomla mail can deliver the signer invitation.
  • The secure signer workflow can be completed externally.
  • QCDS can finalize and expose the completed PDF and Audit Trail.

If any one of those steps fails, troubleshoot that boundary before introducing real documents or more advanced workflow features.
