Use the QCDS Status Tab to Check Installation Health

The QCDS Status tab gives administrators a compact health view of the installed product, current entitlement, key scheduled-task integrity, and Joomla extension-update state. Use it before changing configuration when QCDS behaves unexpectedly.

It is designed to answer the first diagnostic questions without requiring a database query.

Open the Status Tab

Go to Components > QC Digital Signature > Status. Read the page before repairing tasks, clearing legacy state, or changing other settings so you retain the original diagnostic picture.

Current Entitlement

The Current Entitlement card shows:

  • Status
  • Base tier
  • Effective tier
  • Verification source
  • Domain
  • Legacy license key status when an old key is still saved
  • Last checked and Next automatic check

Use Refresh Entitlement to re-resolve the current Authorized Domain, or Manage Authorized Domains to open the QuantaCade account area. If Base and Effective tier differ, interpret that difference before assuming the license is wrong.

Installed Product

The Installed Product card identifies the running QCDS Version, Product code, and Installation UUID. These values are useful when checking whether the site is on the expected release or when opening a support request.

Automatic Reminder Integrity

The Status tab has a dedicated integrity card for the Automatic Reminders scheduled task. It reports whether the QCDS task plugin is enabled, how many canonical reminder tasks are published, the last execution, last exit code, and next execution.

A healthy result requires the task plugin and exactly one published Automatic Reminders task. If it needs attention, use Open Scheduled Tasks and correct the duplicate/missing/disabled state before relying on automatic reminder delivery.

Entitlement Automation Integrity

This card is security-sensitive because every entitlement above Basic depends on it. QCDS checks that the task plugin files are present/enabled and that exactly one canonical Entitlement Revalidation task is published at an acceptable cadence of at least hourly.

The card shows task-plugin state, published canonical task count, validation cadence, last execution, last exit code, and next execution. If the task is missing, duplicated, disabled, unpublished, or scheduled too slowly, QCDS immediately resolves Effective access to Basic until the task is healthy.

When repair is possible and the administrator has sufficient permission, the Status tab offers Repair Entitlement Task. If required plugin files are missing, reinstall the current QCDS package.

Extension Update

The Extension Update section shows the installed version, detected available version, update-site registration/enabled state, and last update check. Use Check for Updates to refresh that snapshot. When an update is available, users with Joomla Extension Manager permission can launch Upgrade QC Digital Signature through Joomla's updater.

What the Status Tab Does Not Show Individually

The QCDS task package also provisions other operational tasks, including Request Timing and Deadlines and Final PDF and Completion Delivery. The current 2.0.7 Status page does not render separate integrity cards for every task type. Use Joomla Scheduled Tasks when you need to inspect the complete task list, schedule, state, or execution history.

A Practical Health Check

  1. Confirm the Installed Product version is the release you expect.
  2. Confirm Current Entitlement shows the expected Base/Effective tier and domain.
  3. Resolve any Entitlement Automation Integrity warning before troubleshooting paid-feature access.
  4. Confirm Automatic Reminder Integrity is healthy if reminder delivery matters to your workflow.
  5. Check the Extension Update section for update-site or version problems.
  6. If due work is still late, open Joomla Scheduled Tasks and inspect the relevant QCDS task directly, including its last/next execution and exit code.

On low-traffic sites, a correctly configured Joomla Scheduled Task can still run late if Joomla is not being triggered reliably. That is a scheduler-execution issue, not a reason to create duplicate QCDS tasks.
