Download a Completed PDF or Completed Package

QCDS chooses the completed download format based on the Request's retained signer attachments. A completed Request without signer attachments downloads the verified PDF directly; a completed Request with signer attachments downloads a Completed Package ZIP.

Download from Completed or Archived

  1. Open Requests.
  2. Select Completed or Archived.
  3. Use the row Download action, or open Request Details → Files.

The Files section shows the completed PDF artifact and indicates that the PDF includes the Audit Trail.

When You Get a Completed PDF

If QCDS finds no retained signer attachment for the completed Request, the download points directly to the protected completed PDF artifact. The file comes from QCDS protected storage rather than a regenerated browser copy.

When You Get a Completed Package

If the Request contains signer attachments, QCDS offers Download Completed Package. The ZIP is assembled on demand and contains:

  • the current verified completed PDF artifact or artifacts; and
  • every retained original signer attachment under an Attachments folder.

This distinction is important for privacy-obscured attachment presentation. A PDF may contain the intentionally obscured presentation derivative while the Completed Package preserves the protected original attachment bytes for authorized record access.

Access and Package Safety

Completed Package download requires an authenticated Joomla session, a valid request token, access to the correct workspace, and permission to view Requests. QCDS builds the ZIP in temporary server storage, streams it as a private no-store download, then removes the temporary ZIP.

QCDS verifies that the completed PDF artifact exists and is readable before adding it to the package. If the Request has no signer attachments, QCDS does not create an unnecessary package ZIP.

Keep the Entire Package When Attachments Matter

For Requests that collected signer attachments, retain the ZIP—not just the rendered PDF—when your records process requires the protected originals. The completed PDF and the original attachment files serve different purposes and are intentionally preserved together in the package.
