Target Output from Specific Joomla Components or Site Modules

With Pro, Max, or All Access, a QCDR Rule can restrict replacements to rendered output from selected frontend Joomla components or site modules. QCDR identifies those regions using runtime render boundaries inserted by its System plugin.

Choose the Extension Scope

  • Output from all components and site modules: no extension-region restriction.
  • Only output from selected components or site modules: matches are eligible only inside selected render regions.
  • All output except selected components or site modules: selected render regions are excluded.

Select Current Frontend Extensions

The editor builds its picker from installed Joomla components and site modules. Components are stored as targets such as component:com_content; frontend modules use identifiers such as module:site/mod_custom.

How QCDR Knows Which Output Belongs to Which Extension

The QCDR System plugin marks the frontend component buffer after dispatch and marks module content during Joomla's module-render event. At final rendered-output processing, RuntimeEngine uses those boundaries to decide which regions are eligible for a selected/excluded extension target.

Why Plugins and Administrator Modules Are Not Offered

Current QCDR can reliably isolate frontend component and frontend module render regions. Plugin output and administrator-module output do not have the same supported isolated runtime boundary in this workflow, so the current picker intentionally does not expose them as targets. Legacy stored identifiers may remain for compatibility but cannot become a supported match boundary.

Test Nested and Repeated Output

A page can contain a component plus several modules. Test a visible value inside the selected region and a similar value outside it. QCDR prefers the most specific applicable render boundary when regions are nested, helping the Rule avoid changing unrelated page chrome.
