Complete Account Setup from an Invite Link
A QCFUM Invite Link lets the recipient finish a normal Joomla account using the email address that was invited. QCFUM accepts setup only while the Invite is active and unexpired, and it rechecks the linked Invite Pack and User Type Profile before creating the account.
The recipient chooses their own password in this workflow. QCFUM does not generate or display a temporary password for Invite Link completion.
Open an Active Invite Link
QCFUM can complete Invite Links in sent, opened, or resent state. Opening a newly sent link records it as opened. If the stored expiration time has passed, QCFUM refuses setup and records the Invite as expired.
A pending-approval, cancelled, rejected, completed, or expired Invite is not an active account-setup link.
Complete the Account Form
- Open the newest Invite Link delivered by the site.
- Confirm the displayed email address. The email comes from the Invite record and cannot be changed in the public form.
- Enter or confirm your name.
- Optionally enter a username. If left blank, QCFUM derives one from the email address.
- Enter a password and enter the same value in Confirm Password.
- Select Create My Account.
QCFUM requires a password and matching confirmation. Joomla performs its normal user validation when the account is saved.
What QCFUM Rechecks Before Creation
- The Invite is still in an active status and has not expired.
- The current QCFUM entitlement permits the operation.
- The linked Invite Pack and User Type Profile are still available under the current configuration and tier.
- The email/username do not collide with an existing Joomla account.
- The Profile resolves to safe Joomla destination groups.
After Successful Setup
QCFUM creates an ordinary Joomla user, records the QCFUM creation/tracking relationship, and marks the Invite completed. Because the recipient supplied the password, this workflow does not use QCFUM’s generated-temporary-password/reset-at-first-login path.
If the Pack/Profile approval rules require approval, the Joomla user is created blocked and pending approval. The Invite is still completed because the recipient finished account setup; an authorized reviewer must approve the created user before normal login is available.
Redirect and Optional Auto-Login
After a successful setup QCFUM can attempt auto-login when that setting is enabled, then sends the browser to the configured Post-Setup Redirect URL. If auto-login is unavailable or Joomla refuses it, the redirect still occurs and the user can sign in normally when the account is eligible.
If Setup Fails
- Use the newest link after a successful Nudge/Resend; the prior token is replaced.
- If the link is expired, cancelled, rejected, or otherwise inactive, ask the sender or administrator for a new invitation.
- If QCFUM reports the Pack/Profile is unavailable, an administrator must repair or republish the onboarding configuration.
- If the account is pending approval, wait for the approval outcome rather than repeatedly resubmitting the Invite.
