Configure the Post-Setup Redirect After Invite or Join-Code Registration

QCFUM uses one Post-Setup Redirect URL after successful Invite Link or Join Code account setup. When the setting is blank, QCFUM falls back to Joomla’s frontend login page.

For normal sites, a site-relative destination such as /welcome is the simplest and safest choice because it stays on the same Joomla site.

Configure the Redirect

  1. Open QC Frontend User Manager → Settings.
  2. Find Post-Setup Redirect URL.
  3. Enter the destination you want users to see after successful public setup, or leave the field blank to use Joomla login.
  4. Save the settings.
  5. Test one Invite Link or Join Code registration with a non-administrator test account.

How QCFUM Resolves the Value

Stored value2.0.4 behavior
BlankRedirects to /index.php?option=com_users&view=login on the current site.
Starts with /Appends the path to the current site root.
Relative text such as welcomeAppends /welcome to the current site root.
Absolute http:// or https:// URLUses the configured absolute URL as-is.

The current 2.0.4 implementation therefore supports absolute URLs as well as local paths. Unless you intentionally need an external destination, prefer a site-relative path so a settings mistake cannot send newly registered users away from your Joomla site.

Where the Redirect Is Used

The redirect runs after a successful complete_invite or complete_join_code action. A previously completed Invite Link also sends the visitor to the same destination when QCFUM recognizes the completed record.

Redirect Is Not Authorization

The redirect does not make a pending account active and does not bypass Joomla login rules. If the created account is blocked pending approval, the browser can still reach the redirect target while Joomla continues to enforce the blocked state.

Production Test

  • Test the destination with auto-login both disabled and enabled if you use that option.
  • Verify the redirect from an Invite Link and, if enabled on your site, a Join Code.
  • Confirm the target page is appropriate for a logged-out user because auto-login can fail or be unavailable.
  • After changing domains or menu structure, retest any stored absolute or relative destination.
