Troubleshoot Invalid CSV Rows

An Invalid QCFUM CSV row has failed a rule that prevents the requested onboarding action. Start with the exact Preview status message instead of changing unrelated settings.

QCFUM separates basic row validation from later workflow validation, so some problems appear during Preview while others can still fail at commit.

Basic Invalid Reasons

Message / conditionCorrection
Missing nameAdd a nonblank name value.
Invalid or missing emailSupply a valid email address.
Invalid methodUse direct, invite, or leave method blank for the default.
Direct CSV account creation is disabledUse an allowed method or ask an administrator to enable Direct CSV.
CSV Invite Link mode is disabledUse an allowed method or ask an administrator to enable Invite CSV.

Header-Level Failures Stop the Whole CSV

  • Missing required name or email header.
  • A password-style header is present.
  • No data rows follow the header.
  • Input exceeds 2 MB.
  • Data rows exceed the configured maximum.

Profile and Invite Pack Names Need Extra Care

An unknown text Profile or Invite Pack title is not classified Invalid by the resolver. QCFUM falls back to the selected default ID. Preview can still display the requested CSV text, so verify the actual default selections and use exact existing titles before committing.

Commit-Time Failures

A Ready row can still fail if the resolved Profile/Pack becomes unavailable, a duplicate appears between Preview and commit, entitlement/ACL/quota changes, Joomla rejects the user data, or mail/invite creation fails. QCFUM reports these as Failed or Skipped in Import Results.

Troubleshooting Order

  1. Read the row’s Status Details.
  2. Confirm the effective method is allowed.
  3. Check name/email/username and duplicate Joomla identities.
  4. Verify exact Profile/Pack titles and the selected defaults.
  5. Confirm current QCFUM tier and frontend CSV permission.
  6. Preview again after corrections, then commit a small controlled batch.
