Add or Duplicate a Custom Email Template
QCFUM can create additive Custom email-template records from scratch or by duplicating an existing Core or Custom template. Custom templates are useful where QCFUM exposes a selectable template, such as an Invite Pack.
Basic supports Custom template records with editable plain text and built-in HTML; Pro+ additionally permits editable Custom HTML.
Add a New Custom Template
- Open Administrator → QCFUM → Email.
- Choose Add Email Template.
- Enter Title, Subject, and required Plain-text body.
- Optionally add a Description.
- On Pro+, choose Custom HTML and enter HTML if needed.
- Review Published state; the new-template form defaults to Unpublished.
- Save, Send Test, and assign the template only where the workflow allows template selection.
How the New Key Is Generated
For a new record, the hidden template key starts blank. QCFUM derives a lowercase key from the title, replacing non-alphanumeric runs with underscores and then allowing only lowercase letters, digits, underscore, and hyphen. The email-template table’s unique key must still be respected.
Duplicate an Existing Template
Duplicate copies the source title, description, subject, plain body, HTML body, and HTML-enabled state. QCFUM creates a unique key such as original_copy, then original_copy_2 if needed, appends “Copy” to the title, and always creates the duplicate as Unpublished.
A Duplicate Is Always Custom
Even when the source was Core, the new key is not one of the built-in Core keys, so QCFUM classifies the duplicate as Custom. Publishing it does not automatically replace the original Core workflow key.
Basic and Preserved HTML
A duplicated record can carry stored HTML from its source. On Basic, QCFUM still renders built-in HTML from plain text because the HTML feature is not active; stored Custom HTML remains preserved for a later Pro+ entitlement.
