Create a QCFUM Join Code

A QCFUM Join Code is a reusable Max/All Access onboarding key tied to one Invite Pack. Create it in the Administrator Join Codes workspace only after the Pack and its User Type Profile are configured for the account type you intend to create.

QCFUM normalizes the code value before saving. It uppercases the value and removes characters other than A–Z, digits, underscore, and hyphen, so choose a simple code that remains recognizable after normalization.

Add the Join Code

  1. Open Join Codes in QCFUM Administrator.
  2. Choose Add New.
  3. Enter an internal Code title.
  4. Enter the Code value, such as VOLUNTEER2026.
  5. Select the Invite Pack that defines the Profile and approval behavior.
  6. Set Usage limit; use 0 for unlimited.
  7. Set an optional Expires date.
  8. Leave Published enabled only when the code is ready for use.
  9. Save the Join Code.

What QCFUM Stores

New records start with used_count=0. If an expiration date is supplied, QCFUM stores it at 23:59:59 on the selected date. The Join Code table enforces a unique code value, so a duplicate normalized code cannot be saved as a second record.

The Invite Pack Is the Workflow

The Join Code itself does not store Joomla group assignments. It points to an Invite Pack, and that Pack points to a User Type Profile. At completion time QCFUM reloads both records and requires the Pack/Profile mapping to remain usable.

Test Before Distribution

After saving, test the code through the unified Create User → Join Code workflow using an account with the real frontend-create permission. Verify the displayed Pack, Profile, approval requirement, remaining uses, and expiration before sharing the code.

Do Not Treat the Code as a Password

A Join Code is a controlled workflow selector, not a secret credential that grants Joomla privileges by itself. QCFUM still validates entitlement, publication, expiration, usage count, Pack/Profile availability, the submitted Joomla identity, and any required approval.
