Reply with a Permanent QCLF Message
A permanent QCLF Message is a chronological forum reply stored on the durable Topic. Posting is authorized server-side against Topic lock state, sanctions, Category reply permission, and guest-posting policy.
Reply Reference can point at the opening Topic Message or another Message when enabled, but the conversation remains flat and chronological rather than nested.
Post a Message
- Open an accessible Topic.
- Use Post Message or Reply on a specific Message.
- Enter the permanent Message with the rich-text editor.
- Optionally add attachments if signed in and allowed.
- Submit the Message.
Signed-In and Guest Rules
For signed-in members, QCLF refuses replies when the Topic is locked, the member has an effective posting sanction, or Category action reply.topic is denied.
Guests can post permanent Messages only when guest posting permits replies. Guest identity/CAPTCHA/approval policy is enforced separately, and guests cannot upload attachments.
Reply Reference Validation
When Reply Reference is enabled, QCLF accepts either a reference to the opening Topic Message or a Message ID from the same Topic. An invalid/cross-Topic Message reference is cleared before save.
The stored reference adds context to the chronological Message; it does not create a nested reply tree.
Server-Side Save
The submitted HTML is sanitized and content-policy limits/pacing/duplicate controls are enforced. Approved replies are inserted in a transaction, optional authorized attachments are saved, and the Topic reply count, last-reply fields, and last activity time are updated.
A successful signed-in post removes the saved reply draft. Approved replies can trigger QCLF notification handling; guest replies requiring approval remain pending until moderation.
Verify the Result
- The browser redirects to the permanent Message anchor.
- The Message appears in chronological order.
- Reply Reference context points only to content inside the same Topic.
- Locked/sanctioned/unauthorized users cannot bypass the server check by crafting a request.
