Understand QCLF Email and Notification Template Capabilities by Plan
QC Live Forum 1.1.27 uses one canonical event registry for email routing, recipient roles, tokens, and factory Core templates. Plan level changes what administrators can customize; it does not replace Joomla Mail as the transport layer.
The important distinction is between the editable Plain Text source, Pro+ Custom HTML, and Max/All Access additional Custom templates.
Basic: Plain-Text Editing with Built-In Responsive HTML
Basic administrators can edit Core template title, subject, and required plain-text body and can publish/unpublish Core templates. At send time QCLF still builds its own responsive HTML wrapper from that plain-text body and supplies the plain text as the mail fallback. Basic therefore does not expose a custom HTML-body editor, but delivery is not forced to raw text-only mail.
Pro, Max, and All Access
- Pro+ unlocks the Custom HTML body mode for email templates. Plain Text remains required as the fallback.
- Max / All Access also unlocks additional trigger-based Custom templates. These are additive: a published Custom template can send alongside a matching Core template.
- Max/All Access includes Pro HTML capability, so Custom templates can also use Custom HTML.
Preservation After Downgrade
Saved Custom HTML is preserved when Effective tier falls below Pro; QCLF temporarily renders the built-in responsive HTML from the plain body instead. Saved Custom templates are preserved when tier falls below Max, but become read-only/unusable until Max or All Access returns. QCLF does not delete premium email configuration on downgrade.
Email Templates and On-Site Notifications Are Related but Separate
The event registry supports both email and on-site notification workflows, but publishing an email template controls email rendering/delivery—not whether QCLF can maintain its separate on-site notification state. Member/global delivery preferences and follow-delivery settings remain additional gates.
