Run a Safe First End-to-End QC Live Forum Test

Before opening a new or upgraded QCLF forum broadly, run one controlled test that crosses the main layers: structure, Discussion, Message, following/notifications, live lifecycle, moderation, and archive conversion.

Use test accounts and disposable content. Do not use a production announcement or real customer issue as the first verification record.

Prepare the Test

  • Create or identify one real Section and Category within the current plan limits.
  • Use a normal member account plus an administrator/moderator account. If testing Broadcast or Watch Party, use a separate viewer account from the Host.
  • Confirm Status shows the expected Effective tier and that all five QCLF Scheduled Tasks are healthy.
  • Verify Joomla Mail before testing email delivery.

Discussion and Message Test

  1. From the normal member account, open the frontend forum.
  2. Create a disposable Discussion Topic in the test Category.
  3. Post a permanent Message from a second permitted account.
  4. Reload the Topic and confirm the Message appears in chronological history.
  5. Follow the Topic/Category as appropriate and generate one safe activity that should create a notification.

Live Chat and Archive Test

  1. Create a short Live Chat Topic where the Category permits it.
  2. Send live Messages from at least two accounts.
  3. End the live session normally.
  4. Allow or deliberately run the lifecycle/archive tasks.
  5. Reload the Topic and confirm the eligible live conversation has become permanent forum history only once.

Paid Live Features

If the site is entitled, repeat a small live test for the paid features it actually uses: Broadcast on Pro/Max/All Access and Watch Party on Max/All Access. For Broadcast, confirm the Host can publish while the viewer receives only. For synchronized Watch Party, confirm the Host playback controls affect the viewer as expected.

Moderation and Notification Check

  • Submit one harmless report or use another safe moderation case and confirm the intended moderator can reach the frontend Moderation workspace.
  • Confirm notification state changes in QCLF and, when email delivery is enabled, confirm Joomla Mail plus Notification Delivery produce the expected message.
  • Delete or clearly label disposable test content after verification.

Pass Criteria

The first test passes only when the frontend route, real member permissions, durable Discussion/Message path, live lifecycle/archive path, moderation access, entitlement gates, and notification path all behave as expected for the features the site intends to use.
