Delete, Restore, or Lock Content from a QCLF Report

An open QCLF report can expose context-aware moderation actions instead of forcing every case into the same workflow. Delete, Restore, and Lock each have separate permission and target-state checks.

Permanent Topic/Message removal is soft deletion. Live-message behavior is narrower, and Watch Party/Broadcast live Messages deliberately do not support direct deletion from the report workflow.

Delete Reported Content

  1. Open an Open report.
  2. Confirm the target and Category are inside your moderation scope.
  3. Choose Delete Content only when the control is available and removal is appropriate.
  4. Confirm the Topic/Message disappears from normal public use and the report is automatically resolved.

What Delete Changes

  • Topic: sets deleted_at and deleted_by.
  • Permanent Message: sets is_deleted=1 plus deletion metadata.
  • Standalone Live Chat live Message: marks the live Message deleted and recalculates Latest from Host when needed.
  • Watch Party/Broadcast live Message: direct report deletion is refused; resolve the report, restrict the participant, or manage the Topic instead.

Restore Reported Content

A deleted Topic or permanent Message can be restored through the Topic moderation service when restore.content is allowed. A deleted live Message can be restored only while its live session is still live, ending, or archiving; after archive completion, that live row is no longer a restorable active-session target.

Lock the Topic

Lock Topic uses the normal Topic moderation flag path. It requires moderate.topic, sets the Topic locked flag, records moderation history, and resolves an open report with a “Topic locked by moderator” resolution. Locking prevents ordinary permanent replies without deleting the Topic or its history.
