Permanently Delete a Soft-Deleted QCLF Topic

QCLF soft deletion is intentionally recoverable first. Permanently Delete is the separate irreversible purge action for a Topic that already has a deletion timestamp.

Manual purge requires actual Deleted Topics moderator access plus Category action purge.content. QCLF also automatically purges eligible deleted Topics after the seven-day retention period through Cleanup.

Permanently Delete a Topic

  1. Open the Category as an effective moderator and expand Deleted Topics.
  2. Confirm the Topic is already soft-deleted and that restoration is no longer wanted.
  3. Select Permanently Delete and confirm the irreversible warning.
  4. Verify the Topic no longer appears in Deleted Topics and that its old content is no longer available.

What Purge Removes

  • The Topic row and its permanent replies.
  • Topic/reply/live attachments, reactions, and mentions that belong only to that Topic.
  • Topic notification rows and queued email-delivery rows.
  • Polls, options, votes, Topic/reply revision rows, subscriptions, read state, and Topic drafts.
  • Live-session, live-message, participant/event, media-source, and Watch Party sync records owned by that Topic.

What QCLF Preserves as Evidence

Reports are not silently erased. Before purge, unresolved reports for the Topic are closed with a permanent-deletion resolution. QCLF also writes purge moderation/audit history so the administrative event can remain accountable even though the forum content itself is gone.

Live and Retention Safeguards

A soft-deleted Topic with an active Live Session cannot be purged yet. Cleanup calls the same purge service for Topics deleted at least seven days earlier, checking up to 100 oldest eligible Topics per run. Automatic purge writes an auto-purge audit event instead of pretending a moderator clicked the button.
