Use the QCLF Frontend Moderation Workspace

QC Live Forum 1.1.27 keeps day-to-day moderation in the frontend Moderation workspace. A moderator does not need Joomla Administrator access merely to review reports, users, forum content, live sessions, or moderation history.

The workspace appears only to a signed-in user who is a forum-wide moderator or has effective moderation authority in at least one QCLF Category. Each queue is then filtered to that moderator’s real scope.

Open the Moderation Workspace

  1. Sign in with the moderator account you intend to use in production.
  2. Open the QCLF frontend and select Moderation from Browse.
  3. Use the exact subtab needed for the task: Reports, Users, Content, Live, or History.
  4. After an action, reload the affected Topic/Category with a normal member account to verify the public result.

What Each Subtab Owns

  • Reports — reported Topic, permanent Message, or live Message cases from moderated Categories.
  • Users — Joomla-user search, active restrictions, and user-related moderation history.
  • Content — published content search, pending guest approval, and deleted-content inspection inside moderated Categories.
  • Live — active/upcoming live Topics plus scoped Lock, Slow Mode, End, and standalone-Live-Chat participant controls.
  • History — paginated moderation audit records limited to the moderator’s effective scope.

Workspace Access Is Not the Same as Every Action

Opening Moderation means the account has some effective moderation scope. Individual actions still recheck the relevant Category action such as moderate.topic, restore.content, purge.content, moderate.live, mute.live, or lock.live_chat. A visible workspace is therefore not blanket authority over every Category or operation.

Frontend-First Does Not Remove Server Authorization

Every state-changing moderation request is POST/CSRF checked and re-authorized against the current user, target object, moderation scope, and current state. Hiding or showing a button is convenience; the server remains the authorization boundary.
