QC Live Forum Live Archive Conversion Scheduled Task
QC Live Forum Live Archive Conversion is registered as qc_forum.archive and defaults to every five minutes. It is the background retry path that turns ended live-session Messages into durable chronological forum Messages on the original Topic.
Archive conversion is explicitly designed to be idempotent and recoverable rather than a one-shot destructive export.
Queue and Batch Behavior
- Each task pass selects up to 5 pending/failed ending-or-archiving sessions, oldest updated first.
- Within a claimed session, source live Messages are read in batches of 250 and reconciled until that session is complete or a safe failure occurs.
- Each live Message converts in its own transaction, which limits partial-failure damage and makes retry straightforward.
How Idempotency Is Enforced
The live Message keeps conversion state and converted_reply_id, while the permanent reply carries the unique source live-message ID. A retry first reuses any already-created reply instead of inserting another copy. Deleted live Messages are marked skipped rather than archived as visible permanent Messages.
What Completion Preserves
Archive conversion keeps the same Topic identity, preserves original author/timestamp and supported reaction/mention/report/media context, remaps read state, recalculates reply/activity fields, then marks the Topic/session Archived and archive status Complete.
The Task Is a Safety Net, Not the Only Path
After explicit End, QCLF can attempt archive conversion immediately. Visiting an ended Topic can also self-heal a stale or pending archive. The Scheduled Task remains the background guarantee for unattended retries, quiet sites, or failures that need another pass.
Troubleshoot a Stuck Archive
- Check the live session’s lifecycle/archive state and last archive error.
- Confirm Live Archive Conversion is executing in Joomla Scheduler.
- Allow failed/pending sessions to retry; do not manually duplicate permanent replies.
- If a worker claim has been stuck for more than 15 minutes, lifecycle/frontend recovery can return it to a retryable failed state.
