Find Archived Live Conversations and Media Context in Search

Archived Live Chat, Watch Party, and Live Broadcast conversations remain searchable because QCLF converts eligible live Messages into permanent Topic replies instead of discarding the conversation when the live session ends.

Search keeps the archived Message source and original live timestamp, and Watch Party results can retain the media position captured with the original live Message.

Search for Archived Live Results

  1. Open Search.
  2. Use normal text/author/date criteria as needed.
  3. Set Status to Archived Live when you want only completed live Topic types.
  4. Open a Message result to jump to the permanent archived reply inside its durable Topic.

What Archived Live Means

The Archived Live status filter limits results to Live Chat, Watch Party, or Broadcast Topics that show archived/end evidence: archived live state, archived Topic state, or a recorded actual end. Normal Discussion Topics do not qualify for this status.

Search still applies the normal Section/Category access, publication, approval, reveal, and deletion safeguards before counting or returning results.

Recognize the Source in Results

Archived replies preserve source_type. Search labels those permanent Messages as From Live Chat, From Watch Party, or From Live Broadcast; a preserved Host Message source also has its own label when present.

The result time uses original_live_at when available, so archived live history sorts and date-filters by the original conversation time rather than the later archive-processing time.

Watch Party Media Position

Archive conversion can copy a live Message’s media source/item and playback position into the permanent reply. For a Watch Party reply with a stored position, Search displays a Video timestamp such as 12:34 beside the result.

That timestamp is context for where the Message occurred in the synchronized video; it is not a recorded copy of the video.

Use the Media Filter Carefully

The Search Media filter checks whether the Topic has a row in QCLF’s media-source table. It is a Topic-level media-context test, not proof that every returned Message has an individual timestamp.

Live Broadcast media is not recorded or replayed by QCLF, so a searchable Broadcast chat archive preserves conversation history, not Host video.
