Assign Custom Fields to a QCMM Plan

Assign active QCMM Custom Fields to a Plan, control customer entry and visibility, add layout items, and preserve stable assignment behavior.

Open the Plan Custom Fields Layout

Create reusable field definitions first. In Add/Edit Plan, use the Custom Fields layout builder to add active, published fields. The same reusable definition can be assigned to multiple Plans, but the same field cannot be assigned twice to one Plan.

Configure the Plan-Specific Rules

Each field assignment can control whether the customer enters the value, whether it is required, whether the customer can view it, and Plan-specific label/help overrides. Repeating Text also supports customer editing and a maximum entry count.

Use Layout Items for Structure

Add Title, Divider, and Spacer items where useful, then drag items into the desired order. Title items require title text; Spacers support small, medium, or large spacing. These layout items do not create subscription values.

Existing Assignments Are Preserved Safely

QCMM keeps stable Plan-item row identities where possible. A field that later becomes retired or unpublished can remain as an existing assignment, but it cannot be newly assigned. Removing an assignment from the Plan layout does not erase historical subscription field values.

Save and Test

  1. Save the Plan.
  2. Open the customer checkout with a normal test user and confirm entry/required behavior.
  3. Complete a test subscription and verify Additional Information uses the expected labels, order, and visibility.
  4. For Repeating Text customer editing or fulfillment workflows, test with the exact role authorized to use that feature.
