Copy Direct Plan Links and Understand Plan Detail Routing

A public QCMM Plan landing page is the Plan Details route, identified by view=plandetail&plan_id=.... It is the route QCMM treats as the canonical public identity for an individual Plan.

QCMM 2.0.21 has helper code for building a Plan Details URL, but the current Administrator Plan row does not expose a dedicated Plan-level Copy Link button. Do not look for or document a control that is not present.

Get a Safe Direct Plan Link

  1. Open the appropriate public QCMM Plans menu item.
  2. Open the intended Plan’s Details page.
  3. Copy the URL from the browser after confirming the correct Plan loaded.
  4. Prefer that Details URL for email, marketing, or internal links rather than copying a transactional Checkout URL.
  5. Open the copied URL in a private browser session to verify the expected guest/public visibility.

Canonical Route Shape

The component route is based on index.php?option=com_qcmembershipmanager&view=plandetail&plan_id=PLAN_ID. When the visitor came through an active QCMM Plans menu item, Joomla routing can preserve that menu Itemid so the Plan Details page and Back to Plans action retain the appropriate catalog context.

Plan Group Copy Link vs Plan Link

The current Plans workspace does include a Copy Link control for a Plan Group. That group link points into the Plans catalog/group context. It is different from an individual Plan Details URL; current 2.0.21 does not show an equivalent copy button on each Plan row.

What Makes a Direct Plan Available

  • The Plan itself must be published and not archived.
  • The viewer must satisfy the Plan’s visibility/Joomla-group rules.
  • An invalid or inaccessible Plan ID renders a Plan unavailable state rather than exposing restricted Plan content.
  • Unpublishing only the parent Plan Group removes it from the catalog but does not independently make a still-published child Plan fail direct Plan lookup; unpublish the Plan when direct access must stop.

Do Not Use Checkout as the Landing Page

  • Checkout is a transaction/utility route and is marked noindex rather than treated as public catalog content.
  • A Checkout URL assumes a selected Plan and can also depend on user/account/subscription state.
  • Plan Details gives the customer context, Overview, benefits, term, price, and the correct state-dependent action before the transaction begins.

Verify a Link Before Sharing

  1. Test while logged out.
  2. Test as an account that should be able to see the Plan.
  3. If the Plan uses visibility groups, also test as an account that should not see it.
  4. Confirm Back to Plans returns to the intended filtered catalog when the link originated under a specific Plans menu item.
