Generate Meeting Times from Availability Rules

Generate concrete slots from an availability rule, verify date/time/capacity results, and avoid treating the recurring rule itself as a customer booking.

Rules and Meeting Times Are Different Records

An availability rule describes a recurring or dated window. Customers book concrete Meeting Times stored separately. Generation expands an enabled rule into future open Meeting Times.

Generate the Slots

  1. Save and enable the availability rule.
  2. Use the rule's generate action from Scheduling.
  3. QCMM evaluates dates in the rule's named timezone, converts each valid appointment to UTC, and creates concrete open Meeting Times.
  4. Review the generation result and then verify the calendar.

How QCMM Builds a Window

For legacy window-style availability, the first appointment begins after the pre-buffer. QCMM advances through the window by duration + pre-buffer + post-buffer and only creates an occurrence when the complete appointment and post-buffer fit inside the window.

What QCMM Skips

Generation does not overwrite existing inventory. Exact existing occurrences are counted as existing; Host conflicts, including buffers and conflicts on another Plan, are skipped; past occurrences are skipped; and invalid local wall times such as a nonexistent daylight-saving transition time are rejected. The administrator generate action currently requests a 60-day horizon.
