How QCMM Expiration Changes Membership Access

At a normal membership end date, QCMM changes the durable lifecycle state and reconciles Joomla access. Expiration is more than a display label: the transition is tracked so linked renewals can activate safely.

Normal Membership Expiration

When an eligible membership reaches its end date, QCMM stores Expired status, reconciles Plan-assigned Joomla groups against the user’s other still-current memberships, and records an expiration-processing marker. If a required transition cannot be verified, QCMM leaves the work retryable rather than pretending it completed.

Cancelled - Active Until Expiration Uses the Same End-Date Boundary

A membership cancelled for end-of-term access remains current until its saved end date. At that boundary, the scheduled transition processes expiration and access cleanup just as it does for an ordinary Active membership.

Group Reconciliation Protects Other Memberships

QCMM does not blindly remove every group associated with the expiring Plan. Reconciliation considers groups still required by the user’s other active memberships, and protected lifecycle groups are excluded from automatic add/remove operations.

Scheduled Appointments Are Not Normal Membership Expirations

A subscription linked to a confirmed scheduled booking is governed by the authoritative Meeting Time/booking lifecycle. Normal membership expiration processing skips that record while the confirmed booking still controls completion, preventing a generic membership timer from ending appointment entitlement incorrectly.

After Expiration

Expired history remains available for reporting, renewal eligibility, and customer history. Expiration does not mean deleting the subscription or its billing evidence.
