Cancel an Active QCSB Transfer Job

This article shows how to request cancellation of an active durable job, understand that already-completed items are not rolled back automatically, and review the resulting transfer state before taking further action.

What you need to know

• QCSB uses durable jobs but follows an immediate-first model: the request attempts ordinary work immediately, and only unfinished work remains for continuation.
• Pro/Max/All Access can use the 5-minute Transfer Continuation task. The worker rechecks the original user’s current authority before contacting a provider.

How to do it

1. Open Transfers and locate the active job.
2. Click Cancel.
3. Queued/retrying items can be marked cancelled immediately; a currently running item may move through a cancelling state before remaining work is stopped.
4. Wait for the job to settle and review what already completed before the cancellation took effect.
5. Do not assume cancellation rolls back completed provider writes. Review the destination and Recovery protection when the cancelled job included destructive work.

Verify the result

• The durable job reaches the expected terminal state: completed, completed with warnings, failed, or cancelled.
• Successful items remain successful; failed/retried items report their own sanitized outcome.
• For a Move, the source is removed only after the destination is verified and the source has required Recovery protection.
