Drag and Drop Files Between QCSB Panels and Folders

This article shows how to use drag/drop to move within the same connection or copy across connections, target a panel or folder, and understand the confirmation and permission checks applied to the chosen destination.

What drag/drop means

Drag/drop is another frontend way to request a QCSB transfer; it does not bypass the normal Copy/Move permission, destination, conflict, Recovery, and verification rules.

Safe use

  1. Open the source and intended destination panels/folders.
  2. Select/drag the permitted item toward the intended destination target.
  3. Review the requested operation/destination rather than assuming the drop will overwrite an existing item.
  4. Let QCSB apply the current conflict policy and durable transfer workflow.
  5. Confirm the provider result and Transfers state after the drop.

Verify the result

  • Refresh the actual frontend Workspace rather than relying only on the Administrator save message.
  • Verify the change with a normal user and at the screen sizes used in production.
  • Confirm the change did not alter permissions, connection roots, or other independently saved design sections.

Troubleshooting

  • If a file action fails, retry with one small test item and read Transfer Details or the operation toast before changing global settings.
