Customize Shared Workspace Heading and Description Text

This article shows how to override the frontend shared-Workspace heading/description and styles while allowing blank values to preserve the Workspace’s normal content instead of replacing it with empty output.

What you need to know

  • Frontend Text has two current scopes: Shared Workspaces and My Private Storage. Blank content fields preserve the Workspace/private default text while styling can still apply.

How to do it

  1. Open Components → QC Storage Bridge → Frontend Text.
  2. Choose the Shared Workspaces scope.
  3. Enter the heading and/or description text you want QCSB to show for shared File Workspaces and adjust the available text styling fields if needed.
  4. Leave a content field blank when the Workspace’s normal/default text should remain in control instead of being replaced by an empty string.
  5. Save and refresh a real frontend File Workspace to confirm the text appears without changing Workspace membership, permissions, or provider roots.

Verify the result

  • An allowed normal account can open the intended Workspace.
  • An account outside the allowed rules cannot use the Workspace/action.
  • Connection overrides and source/destination permissions behave exactly as configured.

Important limits and mistakes to avoid

  • A successful Super User test does not prove a normal Joomla group has correct Workspace access. Test with the real role.

Troubleshooting

  • If an action is missing/denied, check Joomla menu access, Workspace allowed group, Workspace role, custom denies, connection override, and plan gate separately.
