Sort Files and Folders in a QCSB Panel

This article shows how to sort by the current supported columns such as name, size, date, or type while QCSB keeps folders grouped ahead of files where appropriate.

What you need to know

  • Filtering, sorting, and pagination operate on the current panel/listing. In multi-panel layouts, each panel maintains its own browse/paging context.

How to do it

  1. Open the target panel and choose the desired sort control: name, size, date, or type.
  2. Apply ascending/descending order as offered by the frontend.
  3. QCSB keeps folders grouped ahead of files so navigation remains predictable.
  4. Sorting works against the current listing/cache and does not weaken the configured exact-root or permission boundaries.

Verify the result

  • Refresh the actual frontend Workspace rather than relying only on the Administrator save message.
  • Verify the change with a normal user and at the screen sizes used in production.
  • Confirm the change did not alter permissions, connection roots, or other independently saved design sections.

Troubleshooting

  • If a file action fails, retry with one small test item and read Transfer Details or the operation toast before changing global settings.
