Use Browser Back, Forward, Reload, and Bookmarkable QCSB Folder URLs

This article explains how folder navigation updates the route so normal browser history, reloads, and bookmarks can restore a permitted location rather than forcing a full navigation reset.

What you need to know

  • Folder clicks refresh only the affected panel through AJAX. Failed AJAX navigation falls back to normal navigation so the Workspace is not dependent on one JavaScript request succeeding.
  • QCSB uses a short private listing cache (about 12 seconds) for normalized browse results; file-changing actions invalidate affected listings.

How to do it

  1. Navigate to a permitted folder inside a File Workspace panel and note that the browser URL changes to represent the permitted folder state.
  2. Open another permitted folder, then use the browser Back and Forward buttons and confirm QCSB restores the corresponding panel location.
  3. Reload the page and confirm the current permitted folder is restored rather than silently resetting to an unrelated root.
  4. Bookmark a permitted folder URL and reopen it while signed in as the same authorized user.
  5. Test the bookmark with an unauthorized account as well; QCSB must revalidate Workspace/connection/path authority rather than treating the URL as permission.

Troubleshooting

  • If a file action fails, retry with one small test item and read Transfer Details or the operation toast before changing global settings.
