Use Destination-Only Storage Locations

This article explains locations that are intentionally available as copy/move targets without appearing as normal browse panels, preserving one-way publication designs.

What you need to know

• Copy/Move authorization is directional: QCSB checks the source-side permission and the destination-side permission independently.
• Move is destructive only after the destination has been written and verified; the source is Recovery-protected before removal.

How to do it

1. Open the frontend File Workspace with an account that has permission to copy or move to the intended destination.
2. Open Copy To… or Move To… for a selected source item.
3. Choose the authorized destination-only connection/location from the destination picker even though it is not kept open as a normal browse panel.
4. Choose the destination folder and conflict behavior, then confirm the operation.
5. Follow the durable Transfer result and verify the item reached the destination. Destination-only status does not weaken destination permission, exact-root, conflict, or Recovery checks.
