Run a Safe First End-to-End QC Storage Bridge Test

This article shows how to create one test connection and Workspace, publish a frontend menu item, browse the exact root, upload or create a test item, run a safe copy or move, verify transfer status, and confirm recovery protection before broad production use.

How to do it

  1. Create a small test folder on storage you control; do not begin with a production root containing irreplaceable files.
  2. Open Storage Connections, create a Local/Joomla Server connection to that exact test root, enable subdirectories only if the test requires them, and click Test Connection.
  3. Open Workspaces, create one Workspace, select the test connection, add a non-Super-User Joomla group, and assign a role that permits the operations you want to test.
  4. Create a Joomla menu item of type QC Storage Bridge → File Workspace and select the test Workspace.
  5. Sign in as a normal account in the allowed group. Browse the root, create a folder, upload a small file, download it, rename it, and test Copy/Move only where the role permits those actions.
  6. Perform one controlled destructive action such as deleting the test file and verify QCSB creates recovery protection before the provider item is removed.
  7. If Pro+ background continuation is in scope, use a larger/slower transfer and confirm the Transfer Continuation task can finish work that did not complete in the first request.
