Publish the QCSB My Private Storage Joomla Menu Item

This article shows how to create and publish the My Private Storage menu route, apply Joomla menu Access as appropriate, and test both entitled and non-entitled frontend accounts.

What you need to know

• My Private Storage requires Max/All Access and supports user-owned FTP, SFTP, Google Drive, and OneDrive connections. Local storage remains administrator-created only.
• Private connection ownership is enforced server-side. Private connections cannot be inserted into administrator shared Workspaces even if request/database values are manipulated.

How to do it

1. Open Joomla Menus and create a new menu item.
2. Choose QC Storage Bridge → My Private Storage as the Menu Item Type.
3. Set Joomla Access to Registered or another appropriate signed-in audience.
4. Publish the item only when the site has Effective Max/All Access and users should manage their own Private Connections.
5. Test with a normal signed-in user. Each user should see only their own private connections/preferences plus any shared storage they are already independently authorized to use.

Verify the result

• The owner can see/use the private connection.
• Another normal Joomla user cannot see or use that owner’s private connection.
• Private connections do not appear as selectable connections in administrator shared Workspaces.

Important limits and mistakes to avoid

• Do not copy administrator or another user’s provider credentials into a private connection as a shortcut; private connections are intentionally isolated.
