Diagnose and Repair Missing, Disabled, Duplicate, or Misconfigured QCSB Tasks

This article shows how to use Status task-health information to identify missing/disabled/duplicate/bad-cadence registrations and understand repair behavior without silently overriding a deliberate valid administrator schedule.

What you need to know

  • The canonical task cadences are: Entitlement Revalidation 60 minutes, Transfer Continuation 5 minutes, Recovery Vault Cleanup 60 minutes, and Notification Delivery 5 minutes.

How to do it

  1. Open QC Storage Bridge → Status and read each task-integrity card before changing anything.
  2. Open System → Scheduled Tasks and identify the canonical QCSB task by exact title.
  3. For Entitlement Revalidation, there must be exactly one published canonical task running at least every 60 minutes. A missing, disabled, duplicate, or slower task forces Effective Basic.
  4. For Transfer Continuation, Recovery Vault Cleanup, and Notification Delivery, correct missing/disabled/duplicate task rows and restore their 5/60/5-minute canonical cadences.
  5. Use the QCSB repair action when offered to a Super User; reinstall the current outer package when the task plugin itself is missing/unregistered.
  6. Run the repaired task and confirm the last exit code/state is healthy before relying on unattended operation.

Verify the result

  • Status shows the canonical task as healthy and published.
  • The cadence matches the current required interval.
  • A manual/next scheduled run finishes without a repeated non-zero exit state.

Troubleshooting

  • On a quiet site, use server cron for Joomla scheduler:run --all rather than assuming Lazy Scheduler will run on time.
