Troubleshoot Uploads and File Operations

This article shows how to diagnose upload size limits, provider naming restrictions, unavailable destinations, selection/permission problems, conflict policy, drag/drop errors and server-side operation failures.

Troubleshooting procedure

  1. Check the user’s Workspace role/connection override allows the requested action.
  2. For uploads, compare file size with QCSB Maximum upload and the lower PHP/web-server/provider limit.
  3. Verify the provider/root is writable and the exact target folder is authorized.
  4. For replace/delete/move, inspect Recovery-protection errors; QCSB intentionally blocks destructive work when protection cannot be verified.
  5. Retry with one small item and use Transfer Details/sanitized errors when the operation becomes a durable job.

Verify the result

  • The provider reflects the intended final file/folder state.
  • The QCSB result reaches the expected outcome without an unresolved sanitized error.

If it still fails

  • Change one variable at a time and repeat the same small test after each correction.
  • Use QCSB sanitized errors/Status/Test Connection before changing unrelated provider or Joomla settings.
  • If the issue remains, collect version, provider type, Workspace/user role, task state where relevant, and sanitized messages for support. Never include secrets.
