Create a OneDrive Storage Connection

This article shows how to save the OneDrive connection with its application credentials, tenant/account type, exact root, and subdirectory setting, then authorize the intended Microsoft account.

How to do it

  1. Open Storage Connections → New Connection and choose OneDrive.
  2. Enter a connection name, exact OneDrive root, Application (client) ID, Client Secret Value, and the intended tenant/account type.
  3. Set subdirectory access and save the connection first.
  4. Edit the saved connection and click Connect Microsoft Account; sign in to the intended account and approve access.
  5. Confirm QCSB returns through the Joomla OneDrive callback and marks the account connected.
  6. Click Test Connection, then use the connection in a test Workspace.

Verify the result

  • Test Connection succeeds.
  • The displayed/usable root is exactly the intended root and no parent folder is reachable.
  • A normal authorized user can perform only the operations intended for that connection/Workspace role.

Important limits and mistakes to avoid

  • Never broaden a connection root merely to work around a permission or provider error; fix the actual root/credential/hosting problem.

Troubleshooting

  • If the provider is unreachable, test the connection in Administrator before troubleshooting the Workspace UI.
  • Keep passwords, OAuth secrets/tokens, private keys, and unrestricted private paths out of public screenshots and support posts.
