Use My Drive or a Shared Drive with QCSB

This article explains how to choose My Drive or Shared Drive as the provider context, supply a Shared Drive ID when required, and understand how the selected drive remains inside the configured QCSB root boundary.

What you need to know

  • Google Drive connections can target My Drive or Shared Drive. Shared Drive operations retain provider flags needed for shared-drive support; the configured QCSB root still bounds the visible subtree.

How to do it

  1. Create or edit the Google Drive Storage Connection.
  2. Choose My Drive when the authorized Google account’s own drive contains the QCSB root.
  3. Choose Shared Drive when the root is inside a Google Shared Drive, then enter the required Shared Drive ID.
  4. Keep the Exact root path limited to the folder QCSB should expose and decide whether descendants below that root are allowed.
  5. Save/connect the Google account, run Test Connection, and confirm the intended drive/root—not a parent drive location—is what the Workspace can browse.
