Create a QC Storage Bridge Workspace

This article shows how to create and name a Workspace, select shared Storage Connections, choose allowed Joomla groups and a default role, configure frontend behavior, enable it, and test the resulting access.

How to do it

  1. Open Components → QC Storage Bridge → Workspaces and click New Workspace.
  2. Enter the Workspace Name and leave Enabled selected when the Workspace should be available to users.
  3. Under Storage Connections, select every administrator-created connection that should be available in this Workspace.
  4. Under Allowed user groups, click Add Group, choose the Joomla group, and assign its Workspace role.
  5. Use connection overrides only where one group needs a different role or No Access for one selected connection.
  6. Click Create Workspace. Then publish it with a Joomla menu item of type QC Storage Bridge → File Workspace.

Verify the result

  • An allowed normal account can open the intended Workspace.
  • An account outside the allowed rules cannot use the Workspace/action.
  • Connection overrides and source/destination permissions behave exactly as configured.

Important limits and mistakes to avoid

  • A successful Super User test does not prove a normal Joomla group has correct Workspace access. Test with the real role.

Troubleshooting

  • If an action is missing/denied, check Joomla menu access, Workspace allowed group, Workspace role, custom denies, connection override, and plan gate separately.
