Open a Ticket and Review the Customer Context Panel

This article explains requester details, recent tickets, related tickets, and how this context helps before replying or changing workflow.

Where this fits in QC Support Ticket

The Agent Queue is a frontend support workspace, not a shortcut around permissions. Every ticket action is checked against the Agent’s active QCST record and Department scope on the server, including assignment, replies, status/priority changes, attachments, bulk actions, and advanced ticket operations.

Primary location: QC Support Ticket frontend Agent Queue.

Before you begin

  • Use a normal Frontend Agent account for verification. Testing only as Joomla Super User can hide Department-scope or menu-access problems.

How to do it

  1. Open a ticket from Agent Queue.
  2. Review the requester/customer details in the Customer Context panel before responding.
  3. Review the requester's recent tickets and any related-ticket context available to the Agent.
  4. Use that context to avoid asking for information already present or opening a duplicate workflow unnecessarily.
  5. Remember that context is still authorization-scoped; it is not a way to browse unrelated customer data.

Verify the result

  • The test Agent can open the Agent Queue and see allowed-Department tickets.
  • The same Agent is denied or does not receive tickets outside the configured Department scope.

Use context without overreaching

The context panel is there to reduce repetitive questions and duplicate work, not to turn Agent Queue into a customer-account browser. Review only the requester information and recent/related ticket context QCST exposes for the authorized case. If another ticket is outside the Agent’s Department scope, the Agent should not gain access merely because the requester is the same person.
