Search for a Joomla Requester by Name, Email, or Username

This article explains the live requester picker, what account data is returned, and how to avoid creating a ticket for the wrong user.

Where this fits in QC Support Ticket

The Agent Queue is a frontend support workspace, not a shortcut around permissions. Every ticket action is checked against the Agent’s active QCST record and Department scope on the server, including assignment, replies, status/priority changes, attachments, bulk actions, and advanced ticket operations.

Primary location: QC Support Ticket frontend Agent Queue.

Before you begin

  • Use a normal Frontend Agent account for verification. Testing only as Joomla Super User can hide Department-scope or menu-access problems.

How to do it

  1. Open the requester picker from Add Ticket.
  2. Type enough of the requester's name, email address or username to narrow the live search results.
  3. Compare more than one identifier before selecting a common name; choose the exact Joomla account.
  4. After selection, verify the displayed requester details before submitting the ticket.

Requester selection is part of ticket ownership

When an Agent creates a ticket for a registered Joomla user, the selected requester becomes the customer ownership identity for that ticket. Search carefully and confirm the intended Joomla user before submission; choosing the wrong same-name account is not just a display mistake—it gives the resulting ticket to the wrong customer identity.

Safe test

  • Use a dedicated test Joomla account with a known email address.
  • Create one ticket for that account from Agent Queue.
  • Sign in as that customer and confirm the ticket appears under My Tickets.
  • Confirm a different customer account cannot open the ticket.

Verify the result

  • The test Agent can open the Agent Queue and see allowed-Department tickets.
  • The same Agent is denied or does not receive tickets outside the configured Department scope.
