Preview Custom HTML Without Losing Unsaved Edits
This article explains the current HTML Preview control and how to review the draft safely before saving the template or sending a live notification.
Where this fits in QC Support Ticket
QCST sends through Joomla Mail. The Email Templates tab controls QCST sender/reply routing, retry/reminder/satisfaction options, template content, Department-specific variants, and delivery diagnostics; it does not replace Joomla’s underlying mail transport configuration.
Basic uses the built-in professional HTML generated from the template’s plain-text content. Pro/Max can customize subject and HTML and can create Department-specific template variants; preserved higher-tier content is not meant to be destroyed by a downgrade.
Primary location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Support Ticket → Email Templates.
Before you begin
- Confirm the site currently has Pro / Max / All Access effective access before expecting the controls described here. A preserved configuration may still exist after downgrade even when the feature is locked.
How to do it
- While editing a Pro/Max custom-HTML template, make the intended HTML changes in the editor.
- Use the current HTML Preview action before navigating away.
- Inspect structure, token placeholders, links and responsive readability in the preview.
- Return to the editor, correct issues and then save. Preview is for reviewing the current edit; it should not force you to discard the unsaved body first.

What Preview is for
HTML Preview is an editing aid: it lets you inspect the current custom HTML before committing the template. Use it to catch broken structure, unreadable spacing, incorrect links and token placement while the draft is still in the editor.
Preview is not a delivery test

Verify the result
- HTML Preview displays the current unsaved draft without forcing navigation away from the editor.
- After saving, Send Test or a controlled real event renders the intended HTML/tokens through Joomla Mail.
