QCST Agents, Departments, Categories, and Custom Field Limits by Plan
This article explains Basic 3 Agents/3 Departments/10 Categories/0 custom fields; Pro 10/10/unlimited/10; Max and All Access unlimited for those resources, with preservation after downgrade.
Where this fits in QC Support Ticket
QCST separates customer access, frontend support work, and Joomla administrator configuration. A QCST Frontend Agent can work tickets in the Agent Queue without being granted Joomla backend administration, while administrator actions remain governed by Joomla ACL and QCST-specific permissions.
Current 1.0.42 releases resolve paid access from the site’s Authorized Domain. The one-time 30-Day Max Preview is explicit: installing, opening, or refreshing QCST does not start an untouched preview; only the Start 30-Day Max Preview action begins the clock.
Primary location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Support Ticket.
Current resource limits
| Plan | Agents | Departments | Categories | Custom Ticket Fields |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 3 | 3 | 10 | 0 |
| Pro | 10 | 10 | Unlimited | 10 |
| Max / All Access | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Downgrade behavior
A lower Effective tier locks higher-tier creation/use according to the current gates; QCST is preservation-first and does not erase existing higher-tier configuration merely because the effective plan falls back.
Key fields and behavior
| Item | Current behavior |
|---|---|
| Basic | 3 Frontend Agents; 3 Departments; 10 Categories; 0 custom fields |
| Pro | 10 Frontend Agents; 10 Departments; unlimited Categories; 10 custom fields |
| Max / All Access | Unlimited Frontend Agents, Departments, Categories, and custom fields in QCST |
Current-version note
This documentation is based on QC Support Ticket 1.0.42, the package currently deployed on the QuantaCade production site. The behavior described for QCST Agents, Departments, Categories, and Custom Field Limits by Plan should be checked against the current screen labels before applying instructions to an older QCST release.
Verify the result
- The Department appears with the intended Published state and description in Settings.
- A ticket submitted to that Department appears only to eligible Agents in that Department scope.
- The test Agent can open the Agent Queue and see allowed-Department tickets.
- The same Agent is denied or does not receive tickets outside the configured Department scope.
If it does not work as expected
- If a field is missing, check Pro/Max effective tier, Published state, Department scope, and the selected form/Department before recreating it.
