Refresh QCST Entitlement and Interpret the Result

This guide shows Settings > Refresh Entitlement, what successful Basic/paid results mean, and how temporary transport errors differ from authoritative entitlement changes.

Where this fits in QC Support Ticket

QCST separates customer access, frontend support work, and Joomla administrator configuration. A QCST Frontend Agent can work tickets in the Agent Queue without being granted Joomla backend administration, while administrator actions remain governed by Joomla ACL and QCST-specific permissions.

Current 1.0.42 releases resolve paid access from the site’s Authorized Domain. The one-time 30-Day Max Preview is explicit: installing, opening, or refreshing QCST does not start an untouched preview; only the Start 30-Day Max Preview action begins the clock.

Primary location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Support Ticket → Settings → Entitlement & Authorized Domain.

How to do it

  1. Open Settings and click Refresh Entitlement.
  2. Wait for the result message, then open Status to read the current Base Tier, Effective Tier, verification/domain state and access dates together.
  3. Treat a confirmed Basic result differently from a temporary transport problem: an authoritative Basic result changes usable paid features, while a transient connectivity failure may use only bounded continuity.
  4. If the result says the Authorized Domain cannot be verified, correct the domain/account authorization rather than pasting an old key.
  5. Confirm the hourly Entitlement Revalidation task is healthy so premium access is not relying indefinitely on stale local state.

Important behavior and limits

  • QCST 1.0.42 uses Authorized Domains for current entitlement; customers do not paste a current license key into Joomla.
  • The one-time 30-Day Max Preview starts only from the explicit administrator action and requires a healthy canonical Entitlement Revalidation task.

What Refresh Entitlement checks

Refresh Entitlement performs a current Authorized-Domain validation and updates the local entitlement display/cache. It is appropriate after adding/removing the domain in the QuantaCade account, after a paid plan change, or when Status shows stale/pending entitlement information. It is not a button for starting the Max Preview.

Interpret the result in this order

  1. Check Domain so you know which site identity was validated.
  2. Check Verification for domain-control/validation state.
  3. Check Base tier for the underlying entitlement.
  4. Check Effective tier for current feature access, including All Access or an active preview.
  5. If the result is temporary/unreachable, inspect the message plus Entitlement Revalidation task health before changing licensing configuration.
