Start the One-Time 30-Day Max Preview in QC Support Ticket

This guide shows the explicit Start 30-Day Max Preview action, eligibility/healthy-task requirement, what starts the clock, and what does not consume an untouched preview.

Where this fits in QC Support Ticket

QCST separates customer access, frontend support work, and Joomla administrator configuration. A QCST Frontend Agent can work tickets in the Agent Queue without being granted Joomla backend administration, while administrator actions remain governed by Joomla ACL and QCST-specific permissions.

Current 1.0.42 releases resolve paid access from the site’s Authorized Domain. The one-time 30-Day Max Preview is explicit: installing, opening, or refreshing QCST does not start an untouched preview; only the Start 30-Day Max Preview action begins the clock.

Primary location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Support Ticket → Settings → Entitlement & Authorized Domain.

How to do it

  1. Open Components → QC Support Ticket → Settings and locate the yellow entitlement area.
  2. Confirm the installation is eligible for Preview and that the canonical Entitlement Revalidation task is healthy. Repair task integrity first if QCST says it is not.
  3. Click Start 30-Day Max Preview. This explicit action is what starts the one-time Preview; installing QCST, viewing pages, refreshing entitlement, or running a task does not silently start an untouched Preview.
  4. After the request succeeds, confirm Base Tier remains the underlying entitlement while Effective Tier reflects Max for the Preview period.
  5. Record the Preview end date. Reinstalling or changing ordinary local state must not reset or extend the original server-authoritative Preview window.

Important behavior and limits

  • QCST 1.0.42 uses Authorized Domains for current entitlement; customers do not paste a current license key into Joomla.
  • The one-time 30-Day Max Preview starts only from the explicit administrator action and requires a healthy canonical Entitlement Revalidation task.

Before starting the preview

  • The preview is one-time for the installation/domain entitlement path; it cannot be restarted after it has been used/expired.
  • Installing QCST, opening the component or refreshing entitlement does not start an untouched preview.
  • The canonical Entitlement Revalidation task must be present/healthy enough for the preview workflow.
  • If Max or All Access is already the effective tier, there is no reason to consume the preview just to use Max features.

Start and verify

  1. Open Settings → Entitlement & Authorized Domain.
  2. Choose Start 30-Day Max Preview only when you are ready for the clock to begin.
  3. After the action completes, verify Base tier remains your underlying plan while Effective tier becomes Max for the active preview.
  4. Check Status for the preview end time and healthy entitlement task state.

Verify the result

  • Status shows the expected underlying Base tier and Effective tier Max while the preview is active.
  • A preview end date is shown and the Entitlement Revalidation task is healthy.
  • Refreshing entitlement does not create a second preview or reset the one-time clock.
