Customize the Customer Support Portal Design
This guide walks through selecting/customizing the customer portal scope and verifying cards, forms, attachments, buttons, and responsive presentation.
Where this fits in QC Support Ticket
Frontend Design and Frontend Text change presentation and wording only. They do not bypass customer ownership, Agent Department scope, ticket workflow, or server-side permissions, so functional testing should be completed before and after appearance changes.
Primary location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Support Ticket → Frontend Design.
Before you begin
- Use a normal customer/guest test flow as well as administrator checks so ownership and verification behavior are tested under the same permissions customers use.
How to do it
- Open Frontend Design and choose the Customer Support Portal scope.
- Select Customize for that scope and change only the intended visual settings.
- Save.
- As a normal customer, verify dashboard cards, New Ticket form, My Tickets, ticket detail/timeline, attachments and buttons remain legible/useful.
- Repeat at a narrow viewport so a cosmetic change does not break the customer workflow.
Customer-portal checks after styling
- New-ticket controls, Department/Category selectors and Ticket Fields remain readable.
- My Tickets rows, filters/pagination and ticket detail remain usable at narrow widths.
- Public conversation entries and attachments remain visually distinct and accessible.
- Close/Reopen and reply actions are not hidden by custom colors, spacing or button sizing.
Customer-facing accessibility checks
A customer should be able to distinguish headings, labels, form fields, validation messages, public conversation entries, attachments and primary actions without relying on color alone. When changing font sizes, button heights or spacing, verify that long Category names, Ticket Field help text and mobile layouts still fit without overlapping controls.
