Use QCST Core Ticket Reporting
This article explains the Tickets-tab totals available on every plan: total/open/overdue tickets and department counts, including the current overdue threshold.
Where this fits in QC Support Ticket
Reporting is plan-aware. Core ticket totals remain available on all plans; Pro adds report filters, CSV export, and satisfaction features; Max adds advanced analytics and scheduled report delivery.
Primary location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Support Ticket → Tickets.
How to do it
- Open the Tickets administrator tab and locate the reporting summary.
- Review total tickets, open tickets, overdue tickets and Department counts for the current report scope.
- Compare the overdue count with the configured Overdue threshold (hours) under Portal/Ticket Settings.
- Use the totals as operational indicators; open the underlying ticket lists/filters before drawing conclusions from a single number.
Core metrics available on every plan
| Metric | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| Total tickets | All tickets in the current reporting/filter scope. |
| Open tickets | Tickets currently considered active/open by QCST workflow logic. |
| Overdue tickets | Eligible open tickets past a specific due date, or past the configured overdue-hours threshold when no specific due date applies. |
| Department totals | Shows where ticket volume is landing so routing/load can be reviewed. |
Read totals with context
A count is only meaningful when you know its scope. Confirm the report date range, Department/Category filters and display time zone before comparing totals across screenshots or periods. Open the underlying filtered ticket list when a number looks surprising; the list is the fastest way to find which records are included.
Verify the result
- Report totals/filters match a small known set of test tickets in the selected date and Department scope.
If it does not work as expected
- If totals appear wrong, confirm the date/time-zone range and Department/Category filter before assuming stored ticket data is wrong.
A useful daily reporting check
For an operational snapshot, compare Total, Open and Overdue together and then look at Department distribution. A rising Total count alone may simply reflect growth; a rising Overdue count in one Department is more actionable. Use the underlying ticket list to identify the cases behind the metric before changing staffing or routing.
