Create a Ticket as a Registered Customer
This guide provides the real portal sequence: New Ticket, choose department/category/priority, enter subject/description/fields, attach files, submit, and confirm the new ticket.
Where this fits in QC Support Ticket
The Support Portal is ownership-scoped. Registered users work their own tickets; verified guests use a signed, expiring verification/access path for the specific guest ticket. Department choice also controls which scoped Categories and Ticket Fields are offered during intake.
Primary location: QC Support Ticket frontend Support Portal.
Before you begin
- Use a normal customer/guest test flow as well as administrator checks so ownership and verification behavior are tested under the same permissions customers use.
How to do it
- Sign in and open the Support Portal, then choose New Ticket.
- Select the Department first. QCST uses that choice to filter available Categories and custom Ticket Fields.
- Choose the Category and Priority, then enter a clear Subject and Description.
- Complete any required/custom Ticket Fields and add allowed attachments if useful.
- Submit the ticket once.
- Confirm the new ticket reference/detail page appears and review its initial Status, Department, Category and assignment. If exactly one active Agent qualifies for the Department, QCST may assign that Agent automatically; otherwise it remains in the shared queue.
Customer submission sequence
- Sign in as the registered Joomla user and open Support Portal.
- Choose New Ticket and select the available Department.
- Choose a Category offered for that Department and complete any Published Ticket Fields shown for the same scope.
- Enter the subject/message and add only allowed attachments within the configured size/extension limits.
- Submit once and note the generated ticket reference.
- Open My Tickets and confirm the new ticket belongs to the signed-in customer and shows the expected routing/workflow values.
If choices are missing
A missing Department, Category or Ticket Field usually has a scope/publication/configuration cause. Check Published state and Department relationships in Organization and Ticket Setup before treating the customer form as broken.
Verify the result
- The newly submitted ticket appears in the same registered customer’s My Tickets list with the expected Department/Category/field data.
- An eligible Agent can see the ticket according to Department scope.
- A different customer cannot open the ticket by guessing its reference or URL.
